History of Wakasa Onijo Castle
Muromachi era: Yabe era
The date of construction of Wakasa Onijo, however, is universally recognized, and it was opened in 1200 (Shoji 2nd year). Akatsune Yabe’s ancestry is Yabe Village, Abe District, Hikawa Province. The Yabe clan is a branch of the Irie clan, and is also the owner of Yabe County, Eikawa Province.
During the feudal era, the Yabe clan entered the country and built a fort in Wakasa. A historical record of the end of the 15th century is presented by “Yabekin Wakasa (Scroll)”, and it is confirmed that the Yabe clan was in Wakasa at the time. The Yabe clan was the 16th generation of the castle lords, and they had great strength in maintaining the Wakasa area.
A review of historical materials shows that during the Einjin War (started in 1467), the governor of Yabe Yamashiro, the governor of Yabe’s Yamashiro, declared his self-destruction, and other publications included changes during the war.
Age of War: Conflict between Amago, Mori, and Soda clans
After the advent of the era of war, Wakasa Onijo was established as an important point in the country, and became a battleground where powerful feudal lords such as Amago, Mori, and Ida fought fiercely. From there, we will take the position of the military and arrive at the main road in Harima, Japan, and the country’s roads.
Especially when Yamanaka Shikanosuke was the lord of the castle. Shikanosuke Yamanaka was a loyal vassal of the highest rank, and the most loyal vassal of the Amago family. In addition, the castle became the lord of Wakasa Castle (possibly the Yabe clan), and the fort was once suppressed.
During this period, the fort was built and used for countless battles, and after each battle, the city completed its repairs and construction. In the course of researching the history of existing castle forts, a unique feature emerged: a clear understanding of the ruins of old and new castle forts.
Early modern period: residence and residence of the Kinoshita and Yamazaki clans
During the Tensho era, Nobunaga Sota’s demonstration of power began in Ukuni, and Wakasa Onishiroya Zuinoyuki entered the Sota family. After this, the Kinoshita clan and Yamazaki clan became the lords of the castle.
After the establishment of the Eko Shogunate, the “one country, one castle” law was established, and was passed to Wakasa Onijou in 1617. At that time, the process of destroying the castle, which was called “hajō”, meant that the person’s land was destroyed. Nowadays, when the first stone tomb was found on the top of the grave, there were traces of the presence of the emperor in the same year, and the fortress of Chengdu was an important archaeological document.
The fort where the envoys were stationed, the castle fortress, the stone citadel and the outer temple, etc., are perfectly preserved, and have been in perfect condition since the beginning of 400 years.
Wakasa Onishiro Ryoten
Main castle, second castle, third castle stone burial mound
Wakasa Oni Castle’s greatest brightness lies in the mountain’s extension to the mountain’s spine. Comprehensive main castle, two castles, three castles and three castles with lanterns can be seen clearly, and the original appearance of the stone walls of each castle is also preserved.
The highest point of the Useong Fortress, the main castle, offers a spectacular panoramic view of Wakasa Town and the surrounding mountains. The main part of the castle was built on a coarse stone block, but some areas were also used and the stone blocks were still in use, so there are traces of the construction period and the construction period.
The two castles and three castles’ stone tombs have a deep impression on the same old people, and they are highly advanced, which is a rare and long history of the development of the early modern castle fort stone masonry technology.
Corridor Entrance: Nationwide Viewing Passage
Wakasa Oni Castle’s most notable landmark is the one that is also known as the “corridor entrance.” Koguchi is the entrance to the fort, and the entrance to the corridor is closed, so there are a few in the whole country.
From the entrance to the entrance, each side of the castle is connected to a general passage, and the design is clever, and the design is restrained and the attacker is strengthened and defended. This is an important monument in the history of fort construction, and it is also one of the causes of Wakasa Oni Castle’s designation in the nation’s historical history.
Death Gate: Clever defense construction
This is the “death gate” in history, which is always unstable. As it turns out, it looks like a single road, it is actually a dead road, it is a clever defense construction, and after the enemy invades, it will attack again.
In addition to this, the structure of the castle is the unique and sophisticated design of the castle during the war, and the history of the fierce battle stage of Wakasa Oni Castle.
History of battle
It is also an important research highlight of Wakasa Onijo. At that time, the manned reserve had been removed and the part of the stone was moved from stone to stone.
However, it is not easy to destroy the castle, but it is a simple process for the envoy to use the castle, and the method is different from the original castle. The location of Wakasa Oni Castle was provided to us by the archeological test of the treasure, so we understood that it was implemented according to the Eiko Shogunate’s “one country, one castle” law.
Hexagonal stone burial mound
Wakasa Oni Castle has a six-legged stone burial mound. These types of shapes are very visible, and some types of specific burial mounds are available for human review, but their specific uses are still under research.
The unique appearance of Wakasa Oni Castle, the unique appearance of the castle, the unique cultural relics, the diversity of the fort construction techniques, and the diversity of the fort’s construction techniques have been recognized.
